May 16, 2007Former SEVENDUST/current DARK NEW DAY guitarist Clint Lowery — who recently replaced Rob Patterson as KORN's new touring/backup axeman — has issued the following update:
"[KORN] rehearsals [for the upcoming tour] are going great. Joey [Jordison] from SLIPKNOT [who is playing session drums for KORN on the upcoming tour] is blowing my mind. He's amazing.
"The [KORN] guys have been soo good to me.
"But here's some awesome news. I'm gonna be playing at a Dimebag tribute show here in Los Angeles [on May 17 at the House of Blues]. I'll be playin 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' with Jasin from SHINEDOWN. Everyone's gonna be there. Zakk Wylde, Joey [from] SLIPKNOT. And to be a part of my idol's tribute is the biggest honor. I'm soo excited."
Lowery is the second replacement for original KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, who left the band two years ago to devote his life to Christianity.
Lowery made his debut with KORN on March 1, 2007 when the band made its first appearance ever on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".
DARK NEW DAY released its debut album, "Twelve Year Silence", in June of 2005. The disc featured the single "Brother".
In addition to Clint and Corey Lowery, who played in SEVENDUST and STEREOMUD respectively, the group features former members of DOUBLEDRIVE, SKRAPE and CREED.
